Norwalk Arts & Culture Commission Grant Brings FREE 'Broadway in the Park' Tickets to Wolfpit Students

NORWALK, CT: The Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts and Norwalk Public Schools are proud to announce that a grant from the Norwalk Arts & Culture Commission will make free admission available to a limited number of Norwalk Public School students for the Conservatory’s third annual Broadway in the Park summer series, taking place Aug. 22 and 29 at Mathews Park, 295 West Avenue, Norwalk.

Broadway in the Park features the Conservatory’s performing arts students (and some special guests) bringing hit numbers from Broadway favorites like Hamilton and Wicked to life in an outdoor family picnic setting. This summer's series will also feature live musicians joining the singers for what is shaping up to be a riveting review of the work of Rodgers and Hammerstein.

“The Norwalk Conservatory was founded on the belief that the arts belong to everyone,” said Danny Loftus George, co-founder and President of The Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts. “Thanks to the generosity of the Norwalk Arts & Culture Commission, we're able to extend that vision directly to our local schools, starting with the students of Wolfpit, whose community shares our deep commitment to the arts.”

Wolfpit Integrated Arts Elementary School was selected as the first school to participate in the program, with the initiative expected to reach additional Norwalk Public School students in the future. To celebrate the announcement, there will be a special schoolwide assembly at Wolfpit on June 18 at 9:00AM featuring a sneak peak preview performance from this summer’s shows.
